An Installation by Martina Flor and Giuseppe Salerno

They are known worldwide and celebrated at festivals for their blog letteringvscalligraphy.com, which brings together individual letters or words in various forms, illuminating the similarities and differences between drawn and handwritten script – Lettering vs. Calligraphy.

On the occasion of Typo Berlin 2014 the Buchstabenmuseum will present an installation which unites painted and printed, two- and three-dimensional typography, all of which has been created by typographer Martina Flor and calligrapher Giuseppe Salerno.

Martina Flor combines her talents as a designer as well as an illustrator in her drawings of letters. She grew up in Buenos Aires and studied Communication Design in Barcelona. Later she obtained a Masters in Type Design at The Royal Academy of Art in Den Haag. She currently resides in Berlin and works for international clients worldwide with a focus on type design, lettering, and illustration. She lectures regularly and teaches at universities and workshops.

Giuseppe Salerno is an Italian graphic designer based in Torino. He has worked in the creative field for more than 13 years and has lived in Berlin, Amsterdam, Madrid and Valencia. Together with Paco González he is a co-founder of the design studio Resistenza, which develops typographic and corporate identity projects. He organizes workshops in calligraphy all around Berlin.
